Technical Information

Coffin and caskets can be made to your own sizes within 48 hours, although most standard sizes are held in stock and can be delivered in 24 hours.

All coffins come in two main colours, weatherbeaten gold (light biscuit) and buff (reddish brown), except baby crib caskets that are available in white willow. Inlaid coloured bands in a water based dye are available in a variety of colours, to personalise customers’ orders.

Coffins can be for burial or cremation (wooden battens can be fitted to underside of coffin for cremation at no extra charge). A Plywood base is also available, priced on application. The reason for wooden battens and plywood bases is to make it easier for the coffins to slide into the furnace.

The two main types of coffins are traditional coffin shaped and curved end. Please note it is impossible to stock all colours and coloured bands featured in our brochure in all sizes and designs. Therefore we aim to keep a wide selection of coffins in various colours and designs in the following sizes:

5'6" x 18" x 14"
5'8" x 20" x 14"
5'10"x 20" x 14"
6' x 20" x 14"
6'2" x 22" x 14"
6'4" x 22" x 14"

The above standard sizes held in stock can be delivered within 24 hours. Should you require a different design, colour and size from what we have available in our stock at the time of calling, we are able to weave your specification within 48 hours.

In addition we have two styles of babies’ caskets, an oval babies casket and a babies crib casket. Both are available within 24 hours.

Our newest design is our American casket style coffin; please note delivery times are available on request and not our normal 48-hour service. Our coffins have been tested to carry over 350lbs in weight, carried by 4 people holding 4 of the 6 handles.
